You’ll be away for this weekend. Leave a Japanese message to your pretend roommate (the person who is listed right after you).

• First, write about your weekend plans using te-form.
• Then, write a message using ～てください、～てもいいです、～てはいけません.

私のさかなにたべものをあげてください！でも、食べてはいけませんよ！！！！私のかわいいペットですから！

それから、土曜日にとしょかんに本とDVDをかえしてください！

れいぞうこの中の食べものを食べてもいいですよ！でも、アイスクリームは食べてはいけません！！！飲みものも飲んでもいいですよ！それから、私のビデオゲームをしてもいいですよ。

日曜日のよる、９時ごろかえります。くうこう(airport) にむかえにきてください(come & pick me up)！おねがいしまーす。

きょねんのふゆやすみにサンフランシスコに行きました。サンフランシスコはとてもきれいなまちです。そして、とてもあたたかかったです。

サンフランシスコにはいいレストランがたくさんあります。たくさんおいしい食べものをたべました。日本のレストランにも行きました！ちょっとたかかったですが、とてもおいしかったです。

サンフランシスコにはJapan Town　があります。Japan Townでともだちにあいました。それから、たくさんかいものをしました。日本の本もよみました。Japan Townで日本のおしょうがつもちょっと見ました。これはししまいです。ししまいは日本のlion danceです。If you are bitten by the shishimai, it's supposed to be a good luck! たのしかったです！

私はサンフランシスコがだいすきです！

こんにちは。まえだです。UWRFの日本語きょうしです。

私はピアノとアイススケートとすいえい (swimming) とりょうりがだいすきです。まいにち、ピアノをれんしゅうします！それから、かんこくと日本のドラマもすきです。「ごくせん」、「任侠ヘルパー」、「夜王」、「Hero」がすきです！でも、アニメやビデオゲームはあまりすきじゃありません。http://www.mysoju.com/ でよく日本やかんこくのドラマをみます(^0^)

すきなおんがくはjazz, classical music, hip hop, rockです。とくにMIYAVIと X japanがだいすきです！MIYAVIのファッションとおんがくとギターはもうサイコーです！！！！それから、Bigbangもすきです。Bigbangはかんこくのバンドです。

私はからい(spicy)たべものとethnic foodとピザがだいすきです。おかし(sweets) と日本のたべものもだいすきです。でも、アメリカのたべものはあまりすきじゃありません。

みなさんはなにがすきですか！？どうぞよろしく！

JAPN102 Class Blog Spring 2011

This semester, we'll start a class blog. The purposes of this blog are:

• To express yourself freely in Japanese.
• To be able to type in Japanese.
• To use Japanese effectively to communicate each other.
• To get to know each other in our JAPN102 learning community.

Rules:

• Post your blog entry once a week (Due on Monday, 1:00pm)
• Read other people’s blog entries (at least one Japanese facilitator’s entry AND one student’s entry) and post your comments. (Due on Friday, 1:00pm)
• Try to use as many as learned grammar structures and Kanji possible.
• A topic for a journal will be posted on JAPN102 class blog (http://uwrfnihongo102.blogspot.com/) every Friday.

Getting Started:

• Go to http://www.blogger.com/ and create your blog (use your gmail address if you have).
• Select “Settings” from the top tabs.
• Click “Formatting” and select “Central Time” for “Time Zone.”
• Click “Comments” and select “Anyone” for “Who can comment” so that you can receive comments from your classmates.
• Send your blog URL to Maeda sensei (magara.maeda@uwrf.edu) by 1:00pm, Monday, 2/7.

How to post:

• Go to http://www.blogger.com/ and sign in.
• Select “NEW POST ”.
• Write your entry and click “PUBLISH POST”.

私は大学で日本語をおしえています。日本語をおしえるのはむずかしいですが、とてもおもしろくてたのしいと思います！Distance educationで日本語をおしえるのはちょっとたいへんだと思いますが、たのしいから、すきです！私はUwRF/La Crosseの日本語の学生が大すきです！


ウィスコンシン大学River Fallsはちょっと小さいですが、きれいでいい大学だと思います。いいprogramがたくさんありますから。それに、りゅう学生がたくさんいて、diversityがありますから。
私はUWRF/LAXで日本語をおしえるのが大すきです！

Blog 7 さくぶん：私のかぞく

Part 1:さくぶん「私のかぞく(Draft)」(Due 1pm on Monday, 4/5)　

Write an essay （さくぶん）draft about your family. 

• Go back to your last blog entry, Blog 6, 私のかぞく. Read the comments and correct your errors.
•  Elaborate your blog 6, 私のかぞく on your family members’ physical descriptions and personalities by using the new grammar structures such as:
  --weight
  --eye glasses
  --height
  --body parts
  --personalities
• Do not list simple sentences. Instead, use te-form and connect sentences when it is possible.
• Your final writing product should be a short essay （さくぶん）consisting of an introduction and conclusion with several paragraphs. (See メアリーさんのてがみ on Genki 1 p. 285 as an example.)  
  
  Part 2:さくぶん「私のかぞく(final version)」(Due 1pm on Friday, 4/9)　
• Read the comments and revise your draft.
• Your final writing product should be a short essay with an introduction, conclusion, and a several paragraphs. (See メアリーさんのてがみ on Genki 1 p. 285 as an example.)
  
  

Essay grading rubric: 3 points—content [family members’ description: where they live, occupation, marital status, physical appearance, personality, (age, likes/dislikes, things they often do)]    3 points – all the required information is presented    2 points – not all the required information is presented    1 points – no required information is presented 3 points—coherency & organization  Introduction: “私はX人かぞくです。AとBと・・・がいます” . Conclusion: e.g., “ 私のかぞくはとても大きいです”, “私のかぞくはおもしろくて、たのしいです”, and 私のかぞくが大すきです”. Use transition words such asそして、それから、and でも. Also, use the particle も when it is appropriate.    3 points – coherent and well-organized    2 points – somewhat difficult to follow    1 points – not organized 3 points—grammar/spelling/typing/kanji    3 points – few errors in spelling/typing/kanji/grammar    2 points – many spelling/typing/kanji/grammar error, but still comprehensible    1 points – meaning unclear due to spelling/typing/kanji/grammar errors

Here is my example: 私のかぞく

Introduction: 私 は三人かぞくです。ミネソタのShoreviewにすんでいます。しゅじんと子どもがいます。

Paragraph 1: しゅじんはせが高くて、ちょっとふとっています。いそがしくて、あまりうんどうしませんから。しゅじんはかみがながいです。ときどき、めがねをかけます。ハワイしゅっしんのアメリカ人で、おおしろくてとてもやさしいです。Augsburg Collegeでfine artsをおしえています。

Paragraph 2: 子どもは男の子で５さいです。とても元気でかわいくて、スポーツが大すきです。せがちょっとひくいです。日本語とえい語をはなします。

Conclusion: 私のかぞくは小さいですが、とてもにぎやかです。私は私のかぞくが大すきです。

Blog 6: 私のかぞく

私のかぞく

私はけっこんしていて、ミネソタにすんでいます。男の子が一人います。５さいです。とても元気でかわいいですよ！しゅじんはハワイしゅっしんのアメリカ人です。Augsburg Collegeでfine artsをおしえています。しゅじんはとてもいそがしいです。department chairもしていますから。このしゃしんはきょねんのクリスマスにとりました。


Part 1: Post your blog entry, 「私のかぞく」(Due 1pm on Monday, 3/29)　
Write about your family using ～ています. Include 1) where they live, 2) occupation, 3) marital status, 4) age, and 5) your family’s photos if possible.
*This is a class assignment and use the appropriate family term for a formal situation.
